Crafting of the Taobuid Community Conservation Plan (CCP) completed



Fifth and last workshop on the Taobuid Community Conservation Plan (CCP) in Mounts Iglit-Baco Natural Park (MIBNP). The fifth and last workshop to formulate the Taobuid CCP was done on 21 May 2023 at the community center at Station 1, Mounts Iglit-Baco Natural Park , Barangay Poypoy, Calintaan. The workshop was graced by the presence of Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative (IPMR) Juanito Lumawig and Protected Area Superintendent Hector Aragones. Tribal Chieftain Fausto Novelozo, Fufuama (elder) Henry Mapilwe, FAMATODI (people’s organization of the Taobuid) chairman Roberto Perez, and many Taobuid fufuamas (elders) actively participated in the activity. During the workshop, the participants validated the contents of the CCP draft, selected aspects of Taobuid traditional practices described in the draft that they want to be represented in illustrations for those who cannot read, discussed the policies for the proposed area for te expansion of a tamaraw safe zone, and discussed the preparation for the tripartie (PAMO, Taobuid, and DAF) ground delineation of this expansion area. The CCP draft will be presented to the Technical Working Committee on Indigenous Peoples of the MIBNP Protected Area Management Board and eventually to the PAMB en banc.
