Together with six conservation NGOs, DAF participated in the launch of new merchandise that will be available in selected SM Stores nationwide. This event follows the “Save from Extinction” campaign launched in October 2024 aiming to raise awareness and generate funds to conserve key iconic species: the Philippine eagle, Philippine cockatoo, pawikan, dugong, pangolin, and the tamaraw. Funds from the purchase of those merchs including plushies, shirts, bags or children’s apparel, will directly support the work of the NGOs dedicated to each of the species.
The program started with a speech by the Honorable Secretary of the DENR Toni Yulo-Loyzaga, followed by pitches from the six conservation NGOs, a fashion show to showcase the new merchs, and ended with a digital signing ceremony of the Pledge of Partnership among DENR, conservation NGOs, SM and BDO.
BDO, a key partner in the campaign, is offering donation channels. The public can make donations through BDO ATMs and branches nationwide and through the BDO online app.
