Following the census of tamaraw at Mts Iglit-Baco Natural Park (MIBNP) using visual count methods,  a new dung transect operation was conducted this month. Building on insights from previous operations, key modifications were brought to the protocol this year to improve feasibility and reliability. These adjustments are part of the ongoing transition toward using the Ecological Changes Indexes as a more robust tool for monitoring tamaraw abundance in MIBNP.

This operation was conducted by the Tamaraw Conservation Program and MIBNP PAMO together with the D’ABOVILLE Foundation

This activity is supported by the UKAID DARWIN Initiative through the Thriving Together with Tamaraw Project led by Re:wild
