Training of rangers for the double observer estimator method to monitor tamaraw population at MIBNP

This year, the DENR decided to reconduct the annual count using the double observer estimator method. This method suggests that the true number of tamaraws was overestimated by the traditional method at MIBNP.

DAF provided its assistance with refreshing training of the protocol for the rangers before the operation. The consolidation phase, where rangers have to segregate what has been seen in common or not, is the most critical part of the method.

Thanks to rangers of TCP and PAMO MIBNP for their hard work.
