On 15 October 2021, DAF was invited by the DENR Tamaraw Conservation Program (TCP) to discuss detection and census methods for the tamaraw and the status of the methods that have been employed in the field, from detecting presence, determining range of distribution, and estimating population abundance. Due to Covid-19-related restrictions, the discussion was done through a combination of Zoom and face-to-face meeting with a limited number of participants. The result of the discussion will inform the tamaraw meta-population study that TCP is conducting across Mindoro.
