James Burton, chair of the IUCN-SSC / Asian Wild Cattle Specialist Group, made a quick visit to the Philippines to follow up the development of the Tamaraw Conservation and Management Action Plan (TCMAP) together with local partners and DENR authorities. Promising perspectives emerged from our meeting with DENR BMB Assistant Director, BMB Wildlife Chief Division and DENR MIMAROPA Regional Executive Director.
Main progress were done in brainstorming how to structure a special multi-stakeholders working and coordinating committee that will be in charge of implementing the TCMAP.
