DENR TCP Capacity Building on Wildlife Law Enforcement and Paralegal training

The DENR Tamaraw Conservation Program (TCP) held a 2-day wildlife law enforcement and paralegal training on June 11-12, 2024 to strengthen the capacity of DENR-TCP rangers for a sustainable management and conservation of natural resources, and improve tamaraw protection in Mindoro.

Together with other resource speakers from DENR-MIMAROPA (Enforcement Division and Legal Division), Environmental Law Enforcement and Protection Services (ELEPS), LGU Sta Cruz, and DENR TCP, DAF provided two workshops revolving around Illegal Wildlife Crime and Wildlife Crime Prevention. To make use of this opportunity, DENR-TCP and all resource speakers organized a dinner-and-learn session to brainstorm topics that can be included in the next Law Enforcement Forum to be held in October in congruence with the Tamaraw month.

This workshop paved a lot of opportunities for collaboration between local, regional, and national partners for the establishment of the Law Enforcement Forum in Mindoro.
