The D’ABOVILLE Foundation and Demo Farm, Inc. team together with rangers from the DENR Tamaraw Conservation Program (DENR-TCP) and Mts. Iglit-Baco Natural Park Protected Area Management Office (MIBNP-PAMO) participated in the conduct of a thematic workshop to enhance their skills in the use of camera trap technology. Through the expertise of Dr. Andrew Tilker from Re: wild, the participants explored the different steps in the utilization of camera traps for wildlife research, from defining the purpose and objectives, crafting the appropriate study design, organizing the deployment, and foreseeing the requirements for post-data analysis. They delved into various concepts and parameters such as species detection, population monitoring, and how those must be applied for tamaraw.

Hands-on activities in setting up camera traps complemented the theoretical session. Refining these skills will help rangers in planning conservation surveys and monitoring tamaraw landscapes This activity was supported by the Fondation Segré and the Zoological Society of London.
