A banana circle is a permaculture technique of soil fertility management. Bananas are planted around a pit and biodegradable natural waste materials are placed in the pit. It works like a compost pit; after a few months, the decayed natural waste materials are collected as biomass to serve as fertilizer in the areas where trees and vegetables are planted.
