On November 18, 2024, local partners and stakeholders gathered for the convention under the initiative “Thriving together: lasting solutions for collaborative management of tamaraw landscapes.” This initiative continues a program of technical support to tamaraw conservation being implemented by a Consortium formed by Re:wild, Mindoro Biodiversity Conservation Foundation Inc. The initiative is supported by the Darwin Initiative UK Aid.

The one-day convention discussed the scope of the new phase of collaboration and the work plan of action. It led to an agreement on the coordination process for tamaraw conservation efforts over the next 4.5 years and initiated the establishment of effective communication mechanisms.

Over forty people from the DENR, local government units, NCIP, Indigenous peoples’ groups, and academia participated in the convention.
