DโABOVILLE Foundation and Demo Farm, Inc.โs Biocultural Landscape Officer, Ronet Santos was invited by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) -MIMAROPA as a resource person in their 122nd Indigenous Potentials for Peace and Resilience Accountability (IPPRA) Academy learning event.
Ronet was asked to share about the DโABOVILLE Foundationโs experiences, challenges encountered, strategies employed, and lessons learned in working with the Taobuid and state authorities in tamaraw conservation. The online activity attracted more than 80 indigenous people scholars, leaders, and Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representatives (IPMR) across MIMAROPA and NCIP staff in the region as well.
IPPRA Academy is a regular online learning and sharing activity organized by NCIP-MIMAROPA every Friday via Zoom that started during the pandemic. In these meetings, they discuss and share experiences about various topics related to culture, arts, and IP rights, among other concerns. Last Friday, August 2, the special topic added to the meeting agenda was โAng Tamaraw at ang mga Taobuidโ (The Tamaraw and the Taobuid).
