DAF replied to the call of the Tamarw Society by being one of the 9 initial contributors of the "Together for Tamaraw" campaign.
The Tamaraw Society put together by Philippine Parks & Biodiversity is a COVID-19 emergency response to unite concerned groups by securing much-needed salaries and allowances for the retrenched frontliners as well as patrol assistance for the 59 tamaraw frontliners who protect the tamaraw.
Through its “20 for 20” campaign, they aim to bring together 20 champions who commit to pledging Php20k each to save the endangered tamaraws from losing their protectors and to aid in covering half a year’s worth of salaries for the wardens & ranger whose livelihood is affected because of the pandemic.
This is in support of the crowdfunding campaign “Together for Tamaraws” of the United Nations Development Programme’s Biodiversity Finance Initiative and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.
