Fernando Garcia Gil
Conservation Research Officer
Fernando is the new Conservation Research Officer for the Community – Tamaraw Driven Landscape Program.
He is studying the ecology of the Tamaraw , Mindoro wildlife and their habitats across Mindoro. His main goal is to develop methods to monitor and census population across Mindoro and understand the factors that drive its habitat.
Fernando is a Spanish environmentalist with an MSc in Ethology. He has specialized in the ecology and conservation of large mammals with a significant interest in the frame of the human-wildlife conflict.
He has worked in different conservation projects, especially in tropical countries (Mexico, Guatemala, Seychelles), where he has been able to work in close relationship with the local communities and develop his interest in their relationship with the environment.
